Welcome new patients with automation

For the past few weeks we have been talking about software integrations on our blog, and how easily Dentally can be integrated with a variety of platforms to make your life as a dental practitioner easier.

This week we are talking about how you can create an automated workflow using tools within Dentally and integrations with software platforms;  Zapier and Mailchimp. These systems can be used for a number of different tasks and, in this example, we are focusing on welcoming new patients to the dental practice through a seamless automated email marketing workflow.

Developing a series of emails to a new patient means you can easily start to develop relationships and create new opportunities by advising them of things like details about the practice, introducing your team and expanding on the treatments that you provide.

Zapier is a helpful tool that allows you to connect your different software platforms and apps and then automate workflows in a simple and easy way.  Automation is key for any dental practice, allowing you to build faster processes and save time - improving efficiency and developing better patient relationships.  An email workflow is just one of the ways you can use Zapier and you can find more information on their website here.

Connecting Dentally and Zapier to an email tool is simple and allows you to manage a series of automated marketing emails, so you can present information to your new patient in a professional and branded manner.  There are a number of tools on the marketplace, and for the purposes of this article we are going to use Mailchimp.

How does it work?

Our integration with Zapier, means that once you sign up to a Zapier account you can go to a link to access the Dentally integration. You then set up the link to Mailchimp as your email marketing tool and you can create a simple workflow within the Mailchimp system and create content for a series of welcome emails for new patients.

The way it works is that an action in one app triggers an automatic response in another. For example;  if you set up a new patient in Dentally, this integration will then automatically trigger an alert in Zapier which in turn will result in an email being sent through MailChimp to welcome the patient to the practice.  It may be just a one off email or a number of different messages over a period of time.
