New features added to Patient Portal

Transforming the way you manage your practice, to deliver the best possible patient experience is more important than ever as we all work together to help prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

Patient PortalAt Dentally, we use cloud enabled technology to support our practitioners, helping practices to safeguard their staff, provide much needed patient care and transform their workflows - so no matter what is happening in the world around us, patients remain the priority.

The Dentally Patient Portal is a way to manage the patient’s journey through your practice while minimising the time the patient spends with non clinical staff. Managing the patient journey

The first stage of the patient journey following the booking of an appointment is their medical history, which patients can complete in the Patient Portal.

Simple to set up, the medical history questions can be configured in Dentally.  We usually recommend instructing the patients to do this as part of your automated appointment reminder process. The patient must complete all the questions and include any supplementary information.  They then sign with a real signature digitally and save.  A summary of their responses is then shown which the patient can check and then click update to save their updated medical history.   This is then immediately saved within Dentally on the patient’s record ready for the practitioner to review, an email can be sent to the practice to inform you when this has been done.

Upon arrival at the practice, they can login into the Patient Portal and check in.  This can be done within 30 minutes of their allocated appointment time.  Once the patient clicks on the check in link, it will update the patient status in Dentally to ‘Arrived’.  This means the practitioner is aware of the patient’s arrival minimising the patient’s time in the waiting area.

Following their appointment, if the patient requires treatment, the treatment plan estimates and consent forms created in Dentally are presented within the Portal for the patient to review and sign when they have left the surgery or returned home.  Once signed, the PDF document in the patient’s correspondence history in Dentally is updated with the patient’s signature.

In terms of payments, once your patient has completed their appointment, they can pay for their treatment and any outstanding balances on their account through the Patient Portal. With our latest product update, the patient can now review and download their invoices and treatment plans.    If you have a promotional offer or discount you wish to offer, this can also be redeemed by the patient and you can easily set up any codes for the offer within your Portal Settings.

All the Patient Portal features are detailed on our website.

Booking appointments online

If you wish to have a full end-to-end patient experience, patients can view, book, reschedule, manage and cancel appointments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with Dentally’s Online Appointment Booking product - all set to your specific rules.

It  can be added to your existing website or if you don't have a website, provide a link on your social media pages or direct from your patient correspondence in Dentally.  For your automatic recalls within Dentally, link to the Patient Portal in your the correspondence templates, so the patient can immediately book their recall appointment when they receive their reminder, reducing your team’s admin time.  There is no limit on bookings or treatment types and links with SMS and email booking confirmations.  Plus, for new or existing patients, a deposit can be taken to secure the booking.  It works for multi-site practices too, patients can choose between each of your sites for their visit, or their experience can be kept entirely separate to the site they are registered with.
