Full Name: Amy Baxter
Role: Product Lead Canada
What does a typical day look like in your role?
“As Product Lead for Canada, I’m responsible for launching Dentally into the Canadian market and achieving product-market fit. Every day is different, but I typically begin my day early to connect with the UK-based product team, sharing insights I've gathered from customer interactions. A significant part of my week is dedicated to engaging with pilot customers to identify opportunities for product improvement tailored to the Canadian market.
Since I'm overseeing this specific region, I also coordinate closely with local teams, including sales, customer support, and marketing, to ensure our product offerings align with the unique needs of our customers. I spend much of my time determining the priority opportunities to address in Canada, communicating these insights back to the product teams, and ensuring an effective rollout of features to track the desired outcomes. It’s a dynamic role that keeps me engaged and focused on driving success for both our product and our customers in the region.”
If you had to describe yourself in three words which would you use?
“Passionate, driven and adventurous.”
What is the best advice you have ever received?
“Compete with yourself, not others. Growing up with three sisters, competition felt natural—especially since my oldest sister was exceptionally talented. But once I realized we all have different strengths and shifted my focus to improving myself, I started to excel in my own areas of strengths.”
Who are your dream dinner party guests?
“Adele, Sir David Attenborough, and Michelle Obama. Adele’s sharp wit would keep everyone laughing, and maybe we’d even get a sing-along. Sir David Attenborough would bring captivating stories from his incredible life and wealth of knowledge of history and science. Michelle Obama would offer powerful insights on female leadership and American politics.”
What would we find you doing outside of Dentally?
“If we stay in Vancouver on the weekend, I will often meet friends for a trail run, followed by a cold dip in the sea and finish it off with a pastry and coffee. I also love a weekend away and in Vancouver, it's pretty easy to get to the islands or the mountains. So in summer you will find me hiking or paddle boarding and in winter I will be on the slopes skiing.”
What is your claim to fame?
“If you have bought an apple from a supermarket in the UK, it is possible that it was from my family's fruit farm in Kent.”
The best things in life are….
“Friends and family.”
Tell us a random fact.
“Snails have the most teeth of any animal. They aren’t like regular teeth, they are arranged in rows on its tongue. A garden snail has about 14000 teeth. The teeth of an aquatic snail called the limpet are the strongest known biological material on earth, stronger than titanium.”
And finally what do you love about Dentally?
“What I love about Dentally ties back to my long-standing passion for the health industry. All my career, I’ve been drawn to products that improve healthcare through innovation. Now, working in the dental field, I’m motivated by our company’s vision to empower dentists to focus on patient care while ensuring the success of their practices. It’s rewarding to know that what we do makes a real difference in helping people improve their health outcomes and Dentists grow their business. Plus, working with a fun, collaborative, and fast-paced team is an added bonus that keeps the job exciting and engaging every day.”
